Summary: Takes a lead role in the coordination of internal support for Regional Sales Managers and provides assistance to customers throughout the sales cycle by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to the followings:

  • Exhibits a through understanding the Gould Fiber Optics product lines.
  • Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
  • Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of Gould’s production and delivery schedules.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions.
  • Works with outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Represents sales services at internal meetings as needed.
  • Acts as a team lead in the sales services department by mentoring other Inside Sales Specialists and Sales Communications Representatives.

Education/Experience:

Summary: Takes a lead role in the design and development of new and innovative products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but limited to the following:

  • Responsible for conceptual optical design, detailed optical design, packaging, supporting and interacting with other engineering disciplines, including manufacturing, product and systems engineering, developing component and systems specifications.
  • Collaborates with engineering team to optimize device performance and manufacturability and with packaging and manufacturing engineers to ensure optimal device design for cost effective and high volume production.
  • Works with manufacturing to move product from the lab to production.
  • Specific project goals include designing to meet customer requirements and the transfer of packaging technology into manufacturing.
  • Utilizes advanced technical knowledge to assist in the identification of new product trends.
  • Contributes to tasks related to package reliability.
  • Responsible for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production and release.
  • Responsible for interfacing as the central technical resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution.
  • Participates in product development initiatives as a senior member of the design team.
  • Mentors the junior members of the design team and assists in their development.

Summary: Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Determines method of shipment.
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons
  • Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Routes items to departments.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Conducts cycle counts in accordance with Gould Fiber Optics policy

Summary: Assembles, tests, Builds and finishes couplers and troubleshoots various fiber optic subassemblies by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Skills include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Proficient ability to interpret Gould part numbers and product numbers including; standard and non-standard, connector and coupler types.
  • Proficient understanding and recognition of the different coupler functions, types, and inputs/outputs.
  • Independently builds a variety of complex fiber optic subassemblies utilizing a mastery of; fiber termination, stripping, connectorizing, cleaving, fusing, soldering and polishing
  • Understands and readily applies the concepts of tiering and uniformity
  • Performs connector inspection at all levels
  • Use knowledge of part and product numbers to read and interpret work orders including test data requirements
  • Proficient understanding of control documents and utilizes a strong working knowledge of Master Control to lookup various documents to ensure proper documentation is being used, such as correct revision levels and quality standards
  • Independently sets up test stations based upon the test specifications.
  • Performs testing and troubleshooting of product utilizing a mastery of the concepts; insertion loss , polarization, back reflection, and directivity
  • Works at different work stations as production needs require
  • Packs product with proper test data, labels and paperwork
  • Reads and interprets basic and complex prints, assembly drawings and test plans
  • Recommends productivity improvements including processes, equipment, and materials
  • Possesses mastery of DORC Interferometer for qualitative analysis of connectorized fiber and test data records
  • Mentors and trains other coworkers such as Assemblers and Associate Technicians.
