Summary: Takes a lead role in the coordination of internal support for Regional Sales Managers and provides assistance to customers throughout the sales cycle by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to the followings:
- Exhibits a through understanding the Gould Fiber Optics product lines.
- Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
- Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of Gould’s production and delivery schedules.
- Builds and maintains customer relationships.
- Prepares reports of business transactions.
- Works with outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
- Represents sales services at internal meetings as needed.
- Acts as a team lead in the sales services department by mentoring other Inside Sales Specialists and Sales Communications Representatives.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the optics, fiber optics and general optical components and systems
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft office suite

Summary: Takes a lead role in the design and development of new and innovative products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but limited to the following:
- Responsible for conceptual optical design, detailed optical design, packaging, supporting and interacting with other engineering disciplines, including manufacturing, product and systems engineering, developing component and systems specifications.
- Collaborates with engineering team to optimize device performance and manufacturability and with packaging and manufacturing engineers to ensure optimal device design for cost effective and high volume production.
- Works with manufacturing to move product from the lab to production.
- Specific project goals include designing to meet customer requirements and the transfer of packaging technology into manufacturing.
- Utilizes advanced technical knowledge to assist in the identification of new product trends.
- Contributes to tasks related to package reliability.
- Responsible for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production and release.
- Responsible for interfacing as the central technical resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution.
- Participates in product development initiatives as a senior member of the design team.
- Mentors the junior members of the design team and assists in their development.

Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
Lab View, Data Acquisition Programming, MATLAB, Pro-E, Solid Work or other Professional Design/Drawing software, Microsoft Office Suite
